It was a breath of fresh air to hear a surgeon say that they had a fix my long-term ear problem. Mr Khemani explained the procedure to me very clearly and told how I would recover afterwards. Mr Khemani performed an adenotonsillectomy on my 5 year old son. From our first consultation, he was very kind and answered all of our questions and reassured us as we were a little apprehensive. My GP suggested I visited an ENT Consultant. A close family member, who is a senior health professional, suggested that I saw Mr Sameer Khemani, which I did a few days later at Gatwick Park Hospital. Mr Khemani arranged for me to have a hearing test prior to seeing him about 20 minutes later. The Audiologist began examining my ears and immediately found an area of hard wax on my ear drum, that had gone undetected as it was hidden behind a bend in the ear canal. The Audiologist immediately contacted Mr Khemani and it was agreed that he would see me prior to completing the audio test. After a few minutes, Mr Khemani examined and removed the offending matter, without any discomfort whatsoever. I was amazed, the pressure and discomfort in my left ear had virtually all disappeared. The hearing test resumed and it confirmed – what I already expected – that my hearing had deteriorated. Mr Khemani discussed the results with me and suggested that a hearing aid may be appropriate, but I was just so happy that he had removed the source of discomfort and restored hearing to my left ear. Mr Khemani is a total star in the medical heavens. He is friendly, professional, generous with his time and listens carefully to his patient. He explained every procedure with great care and attention to detail, appreciated the fact that I have a reasonable IQ as well as concerns, and even drew diagrams for me (art skills not quite as hot as surgical skills). After a week on antibiotics and suffering with an ear infection coupled with a complete loss of hearing in my infected ear Mr Khemani offered me an amazing cure inside of twenty minutes by performing Microsuction. He was caring and considerate whilst being totally professional. As promised the procedure was quick and totally painless and was quite frankly a miracle cure after a very miserable week. Mr Khemani has treated both my sons. My eldest had his adenoids removed and grommets fitted after years of painful ear infections, glue ear and problems hearing. I saw Mr Khemani for my Vertigo, he was absolutely lovely, a really nice man who immediately put me at ease. He sorted the Vertigo for me on the first visit performing an exercise which worked straight away, I saw him two weeks later as a precaution to make sure it had not returned, I can happily say it has not. I visited Mr Khemani with my 10 year old son who has has long term ear problems. I like the way he really listened and involved my son, taking time to explain so that we could both understand and used diagrams to show what was happening and why. I didn't feel rushed and I felt my son had thorough checks to rule out other causes. All options were discussed in detail with clear explanations, so we left feeling satisfied that we have found out what the issues are and how we will proceed. My son really liked him, and wasn't nervous about seeing him again, he said he was the only doctor who "actually remembered me" Very happy and can't make any suggestions for improvements, except maybe to ask if all children can have a local cream anaesthetic before a blood test.

Mr Khemani oversaw the diagnosis and surgical treatment for a potentially sever condition affecting my 9 year old son's middle ear. Throughout the whole period Mr Khemani's willingness to explain the major issues clearly, and to listen and respond to my questions, was hugely reassuring. I have suffered with my ears since I was a child and have had many procedures. As an adult with ongoing ear and facial pain coupled with dizziness, I was sent to the dentist, maxillo facial team and to other ENT specialists. Mr Khemani was the first consultant to do an in depth consultation, taking in all of my history, rather than simply looking at the current presenting problem. After a detailed MRI, Mr Khemani's diagnosis of some of my problems stemming from my neck, were correct! Some physiotherapy has made a huge difference, something which was a complete surprise to me! The facial and ear pain which I experienced for some years as an adult making me thoroughly miserable, has been significantly reduced. Mr Khemani is forward thinking and very personable. I would have no hesitation in recommending him for both adults and children.

My 5 year old daughter had to have her tonsils removed so we saw Mr Khemani who carried out the operation at Gatwick Park Hospital. The staff were great and were more than happy to help with anything we needed. Femi was our nurse and he looked after us very well. We were even able to contact him after we had left the hospital which we did several times. The surgery went very well under Mr Khemani and I would recommend him and his team at any time. The hospital was good and clean but there were offices in some of the unused patient rooms down from my daughters room, which I did not like. We were there all day and there were different staff walking back and forth all day. They were really set up for kids as they even had a battery powered car for them to drive to the theatre in. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Khemani, his team, Femi and the other nurses at the hospital.

EXCELLENT!, Mr Khemani in my opinion is one of the best I have seen. He really listened and cared for my daughter, and even though my daughters last appointment with him was last year, I have had a couple of questions recently regarding her medication. I highly recommend this doctor. He was kind, polite, understanding and listened to everything. I felt very at ease and confident of his ability. I had to have a camera in the nose and down the throat and was very nervous about it but Mr Khemani explained in detail how it would be done and really calmed my nerves. When I had a follow up appointment a few weeks later and a second camera procedure I wasn't worried at all. He recorded the whole procedure. When watching it back he explained it all in great detail and was easy to understand. My acute sinusitis is now pretty much cleared up and all thanks to Mr Khemani. We recently saw Mr Khemani on behalf of our 10 year old son who was suffering with persistent tonsil stones. We received an appointment within two weeks and Mr Khemani was patient in listening to the problems that our son had been experiencing as well as our failed attempts not only in trying to manage the condition but also that our son didn't qualify for treatment under current NHS guidelines. Mr Khemani clearly explained what options we had, one of which involved a new type of surgery to remove most of the tonsil leaving just a small part of the root behind, the benefits of which were improved recovery time and less chance of bleeding afterwards unlike traditional tonsillectomy. All aspects of the surgery and risk assessment were fully outlined to us in person as well as in written literature. Our son went ahead with the surgery a few weeks later. Mr Khemani and his team were extremely efficient, professional and the whole day went very smoothly. Our son was discharged from hospital later in the day to recover at home. Within two weeks he was totally back to normal with no side affects and no pain. He is a changed boy. Mr Khemani has also kept us informed by letter concerning our son's diagnosis, treatment and discharge home, with copies going to our GP surgery. Given everything from start to finish, we would highly recommend Mr Khemani as we feel we have been listened to and treated with respect.
