At ENT Surrey, we understand that hearing loss and tinnitus can profoundly impact an individual’s quality of life. We work with Gatwick Audiology who offer a comprehensive range of private hearing aids and tinnitus treatment options tailored to a person’s unique needs. Their state-of-the-art devices, supplied from the world’s best manufacturers combine cutting-edge technology with discreet, comfortable designs to enhance the hearing experience.

Modern hearing aids include features like Bluetooth connectivity, rechargeable batteries, or custom-fit options. There are many options as outlined below so deciding on the best hearing aid requires discussion with our expert audiologists who will work to provide a personalised solution and ongoing support.

Different Types of Hearing Aids

Invisible-In-Canal (IIC)
These are the smallest custom hearing aids available. They are designed and custom measured to fit entirely inside your ear canal and are therefore almost, if not completely, invisible.
Completely-In-Canal (CIC)
The smallest custom hearing aids available. They are designed and custom measured to fit almost entirely inside your ear canal and are therefore almost invisible, with only the faceplate and battery drawer usually visible.
Mini-canal (MC) and In-the-Canal (ITC)
These are larger than both IIC and CIC hearing aids, but still relatively unnoticeable. They are designed and custom measured to fit in the lower third of your external ear.
In-the-canal (ITE)
These hearing aids are the largest of all custom fit hearing aids. They are designed and custom measured to fit either half your external ear or the entire external ear. Usually chosen only if clients have dexterity problems managing smaller custom-made hearing aids.
Receiver In the Canal (RIC)
They have the receiver in the ear which is attached by a wire. RIC type offers a discreet hearing aid option for clients who may not like the sensation of having a hearing aid deep in the ear canal, this can be suitable for a mild to severe hearing loss.
Behind-The-Ear (BTE)
These models sit behind the ear and deliver sound into the ear either via acoustic tubing channelled through a custom-made ear mould, or a discreet ‘thin-tube’ attached to an ear dome or custom-made micro-mould which fits inside the ear canal.
Instant Fit In the Canal
These hearing aids come ready-to-wear, with a secure fit for almost every ear depending on the hearing loss configuration.
Contralateral Routing Of Signals (CROS)
These hearing aids come ready-to-wear, with a secure fit for almost every ear depending on the hearing loss configuration.
Bone Conduction Hearing Aids (BCHA)
This is an alternative to a regular hearing aid for those with problems in their outer or middle ears. It transfers sound by bone vibration directly to the cochlea, bypassing the outer and the middle ear.
